If you need ideas for your next Southwestern-style design project, consider taking a trip to a resort for a little inspiration.

My hubby and I frequently take little getaways to re-energize our spirits. Recently, we stayed at the Westin Stonebriar Resort in Frisco, Texas.

THE PERFECT PLACE

This resort was the perfect place to get ideas for your Southwest or Texan decor. Oil paintings flanked the walls throughout the entrance depicting classic Western landscapes and other colorful scenes. The decor was rustic and elegant, yet welcoming and comfortable.

The infusion of rich earth-tone fabrics, supple leather chairs and floral patterns softened the otherwise rugged decor. The rugs were bold and full of color, which blended well with the other warm tones in the lobby.

A combination of aged wood floors and stone tiles were incorporated into the flooring.

Bold color choices for the rugs enhanced each individual space. The overall feel of the hotel spelled comfort from the moment you walked into the foyer.

During your next vacation, take a moment to check out the decor in your hotel for a few design ideas.

Now go out and create your own unique comfort zone!
