In October I visited the Tulsa Street of Dreams. These million dollars homes are located in the Wenmoor Addition of Tulsa and were developed by Tom Wenwick.
Proceeds of the tour benefited the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Oklahoma Chapter. The four homes on the tour have been described as oil baron day homes with over 7,000 square feet of living.
I was very impressed by the décor in the Porto Di Cielo home. This means Gateway to Heaven. This home was built with the flavor of Tuscany and was filled with wrought iron doors, lots of balconies and a stucco, brick, and stone façade.
The grand entryway is graced by a beautiful wrought iron spiral stair case. The two-story library was in close proximity as well as, a formal parlor with a cast stone fireplace. The builder also used tumbled travertine, hardwood floors and stone columns in the space.
The kitchen was fabulous. It included a custom bar cabinet and a distressed kitchen island with two-sinks made from hammered copper and refrigeration and warming trays. The connecting family room included a circular breakfast nook with views to the outside entertainment area.
The master bedroom featured chandeliers, a see-through fireplace and a concealed television topped with a warm faux finish on the walls and barrel vaulted ceilings.
This spacious home boosted five-bedrooms, seven full-baths and 2 half-baths with over 8,000 square feet of living space. It also included a media room, formal dining area, family room and a luscious master suite.
The outside entertainment area was beautifully designed and included a loggia, fireplace, pool and a tranquility fountain. This beautiful villa was priced at 1.95 million and was built by Jacobs/Hollinger LLC.
This fabulous home had already been purchased by Cheri and Mike Sitton of Tulsa and their two children Emma and Damon. Cheri is the owner of Double Eagle Design.
“We love everything about this house. The entire house is just perfect” Cheri Said.
“The only negative aspect of the house was the formal dining room. It sat to far out in the open. So I added columns and had the builder bring the ceiling down a bit”.
My favorite room was Emma‘s room. Emma is a 15-year-old design genius. She selected all of the colors for the project and shopped for all of the furnishings. She turned her space into a colorful teen fantasy room filled with flowers, mannequins and wonderful bright colors. One of the centerpieces of her room is an entertainment center that is painted with a zebra stripe.
“This is the fourteenth room that I have designed,” Emma Said. “And I picked out everything in the room.”
Emma’s brother Damon also has a grand room full of rich color. He chose bright red/orange walls with plaid draperies. The centerpiece of his room is the whimsical double ceiling fans with palm-like blades that remind me of an aeronautical theme.
Porta Di Cielo, is definitely a gateway to heaven and it offers every comfort available. I’m sure the Sitton family will share many memories living in this wonderful and beautifully decorated villa. Even though this space is fit for an oil baron or even a king, the Sittons will be residing in this Comfort Zone.
